ETCHING HILL SCHOOL UNIFORM AND KIT LIST

At Etching Hill the Governors and staff believe that the wearing of school uniform gives pupils confidence in themselves, pride in the school and helps to promote a feeling of belonging to the school community. It is both practical and economical and helps prevent needless comparisons in dress. We appreciate our parent’s positive attitude to supporting this. 

 On health and safety grounds we strongly recommend that the children do not wear jewellery at school. Children who have pierced ears should only wear one pair of plain unobtrusive studs to school and should be able to remove them themselves for PE lessons. If they cannot do this, then they must not wear them to school on PE days or they will be unable to participate in this lesson. Since PE is a legal requirement, all children should be able to take part. Please bear this in mind if your child is intending to have their ears pierced and try to arrange this at the beginning of the Summer holidays when they can be left in for a sustained period of time.

We have a uniform which consists of:-

• A blue sweatshirt/cardigan (Etching Hill logo products are available)

• Red polo shirt (Etching Hill logo products are available)

• Grey or black trousers / long shorts / skirts

We ask all children to wear black, sensible footwear.  In the summer term, sensible sandals are permitted but we would ask that these are school-appropriate (i.e. no exposed toes).

 P.E Uniform

Please note this is ONLY required for pupils in Year 1 upwards.

We ask that parents/carers provide blue or black shorts and a black PE polo shirt. Please also provide additional warm clothing for outdoor P.E in the winter months.
